Serving our students, families & community
Running for Chair & CAT Rep — Hope-Hill Elementary GO Team
I've completed my APS GO Team onboarding and I'm officially serving Hope-Hill Elementary as a Parent/Guardian Representative. My next step: running for GO Team Chair and Cluster Advisory Team (CAT) Representative at our first meeting this fall.
As Chair, I'd lead every GO Team meeting, co-set the agenda with our principal, and represent the team between sessions — keeping us focused on the what and why behind every decision, not the day-to-day management that belongs to our principal. As CAT Representative, I'd carry Hope-Hill's voice to the cluster table, connecting with neighboring schools and advocating directly at the Cluster Superintendent level.
The GO Team is the official school governance council for every Atlanta Public Schools campus — a collaborative body that shapes school direction alongside the principal.
The team includes parents, teachers, community members, and school staff — all elected by their peers to represent the Hope-Hill community.
The GO Team reviews and approves the School Improvement Plan, budget priorities, and school-level policies that affect students and families directly.
Meetings are open to the public and held monthly. Parents and community members are always welcome to attend, observe, and weigh in during public comment.
Each GO Team elects a rep to the Cluster Advisory Team (CAT) — connecting our school to neighboring APS schools and the Cluster Superintendent for broader advocacy and planning.
Bring in organizational partnerships that unlock funding and resources our school wouldn't otherwise have access to.
Grow coding, robotics, and hands-on learning programs that prepare our kids for the world they're actually going to live in.
Keep parents informed and engaged — regular updates on GO Team decisions, meeting summaries, and how to get involved.
Support students, families, and staff holistically — because kids thrive when the whole community is taken care of.
As CAT Representative, carry Hope-Hill's priorities beyond our walls — connecting with neighboring schools and advocating at the Cluster Superintendent level for resources and alignment that benefit our students.
GO Team meetings are open to the public. Come see how decisions are made and speak during public comment.
